Young Numismatist Scholarship
(Fallbrook, CA) – The Professional Numismatists Guild (PNG) again will send a talented young numismatist (YN) to the annual American Numismatic Association (ANA) Summer Seminar in the second annual PNG YN Scholarship Program.
“Nominations for potential scholarship recipients now are being accepted, but only until June 15, 2006,” said PNG President Jeff Garrett.
Nominations should include the nominee’s name, contact information and an explanation of why he or she should be awarded the scholarship. The nominations can be sent by e-mail to [email protected], or by mail to PNG Executive Director Robert Brueggeman, 3950 Concordia Lane, Fallbrook, CA 92028.
The money to pay for the annual YN Scholarship is administered from the PNG’s Gerald Bauman Memorial Fund. Bauman, who died in 2001, served for many years as a prominent coin dealer with Manfra, Tordella & Brookes.
“The week-long ANA Summer Seminar in Colorado Springs, Colorado can be an invaluable experience for any numismatist, and especially exciting for a young collector who is just starting to enjoy the hobby. The PNG is pleased to help nurture a deserving young numismatist,” said Brueggeman. Founded in 1955, PNG is a nonprofit organization composed of many of the top rare coin and paper money dealers in the United States and seven other countries.
