Turin 2006 Olympic Commemorative Coins
The official commemorative coins of the Olympic Winter Games of Turin 2006 were presented last week at the World Money Fair in Basel, Switzerland. “As we are celebrating the events related to the “One Year to Go” to the Games, these coins represent a further and important promotional instrument for our Olympic Winter Games, the winter sports disciplines and our territory. The realization of these coins by the Italian Mint is an excellent example of the tradition and ability of the Italian artists working in numismatics,” underlined the President of the Organizing Committee for the XX Olympic Winter Games in Turin (TOROC), Valentino Castellani.
I also found an Olympic store on the official Torino Olympic Winter Games web site where there are commemorative medals for sale. I’m guessing those are some of the ones mentioned in the article.
