National Coin Week

Yesterday, April 15th ushered in National Coin Week of 2007 (it goes until April 21st). It’s a great occasion to share the hobby of coin collecting with friends and acquaintances. You can do something as simple as spending a few Washington Dollars at a local store to get them into circulation, or as involved as giving away a $400 gold coin.

The ANA is sponsoring a coin drop, where members put specially marked coins into circulation with the hope of interesting non-collectors to contact the club to learn more. A Nashua, NH is one of the many coin clubs who are participating in the fun.

Even if you don’t do anything to help promote coin collecting, at least check your pocket change to see if you got any of the specially marked coins. It could be worth around $400.
