Lincoln Honored with New Cent Designs

Yahoo News has a slideshow of the new designs coming out for the Lincoln Cent today. While some think the cent should be done away with, it’s nice to see some variety on the longest unchanged design among United States coins. With the success of the 50-state quarter program under its belt, I expect the U.S. Mint has high hopes for this new series to honor Abraham Lincoln 200 years after his birth, February 12, 2009.
