Digitally Scanning Coins for Defects

Related to the device that can detect counterfeits, I got an e-mail from Dave pointing to an article he wrote about how he scanned in thousands of state quarters, then wrote software to analyze them in an attempt to find defects.

Sounds like an interesting project.
