Are the wrong people on the dollar coins?
Here’s an unexpected turn of events regarding the dollar coins (although I don’t expect anything to come of it). Stanley Klos, along with his fellow members of the Norwich Historical Society, consider Samuel Huntington and the nine men who followed him as the first 10 presidents, making George Washington “a fine soldier and statesman”, but the 11th president of the United States. Each of the 10 men, starting with Huntington, served as “president of the United States in Congress assembled,” under the Articles of Confederation.
According to state Attorney General Richard Blumenthal, no federal agency or state can take action against a federal agency, so Klos’ complaint won’t have any effect.
