One of the great parts of being a coin collector is getting to interact with other coin collectors. However, depending on where you live, there might not be a coin club that is close enough for you to attend. For a long time that meant you were stuck collecting on your own unless a coin show came to your area, but that’s no longer the case. There are online forums you can participate in, and one in particular that I’ve enjoyed being a member of is the Yahoo USA Coin Group.

There is frequent participation from some very knowledgeable numismatists and discussions range from what magnification you should use for error coins to the latest news in numismatics.

They also have chats every Thursday at 9pm Central time where you can ask questions or just shoot the breeze with other people who like to collect coins. If you want to learn more about collecting coins, or you’re a seasoned dealer who has been collecting since you were knee high to a grasshopper, you’ll be a welcome addition to the group.
