One of the most common questions I receive is, "How much is this coin worth?" It makes sense that people would want to know if the coin they found hidden away in the attic could mean they won't ever have to work again, but that's not often the case. For those of you who would like to answer that question yourself, this site explains the process step by step. If you have any questions about how the process works, feel free to ask in the comments. Should I or can I? If so how much is it worth if anything??Thank you » by Mary on January 15, 2005 @ 12:56 PM #There's no price guide to determine the value of a set, because it depends on the condition of each coin in the set. It's definitely worth something though. You can see how much they're selling for at coin shops or online dealers (Ebay perhaps) to get a general idea of its value. » by dan on January 15, 2005 @ 01:26 PM #I have a 1943 and 1944 Jeferson nickel. On the back, at the top, directly under E Pluribus Unum is an "S". Is this a mint stamp or something else and do the nickels have any value? If anyone has any info it would be appreciated. Thanks, Deb » by Debbie on January 20, 2005 @ 12:17 PM #Debbie: The S is the mintmark. The reason it was put there was to indicate the nickels had silver content because nickel was needed for World War II. » by dan on January 20, 2005 @ 12:50 PM #I also have a Columbian Half dollar dated 1893. I was wondering how much it was worth? » by Carolyn Fischer on January 23, 2005 @ 01:06 PM #I have a bicentenial coin made for Rhode Island,It has been incased in glass always.I think it was just made for the house of Reps.Is this worth anything? » by Richard Buteau on March 02, 2005 @ 09:52 PM #Hi, Unjamming the machine I could see how old the coins were, the boys said they happened to find the coins in their basement. I urged tham not to count the coins in the machine, but to take them to a collector to see if they were worth anything. It'd be a shame if they got 9 cents one the dollar for face value and the coins were rare. They had at least fifty dollars in coin and all of it from that same era (WWII to early civil rights). I doubt that they will come back and tell me, they were about 12-14. But I am still curious. Did these guys find a windfall? Thanks I'm assuming the coins were circulated and if so, they probably weren't worth a great deal more than face value. However, collectors would probably pay a little premium for them. » by dan on March 04, 2005 @ 12:04 PM #I have a coin, It says on it E. pluribus. unum 1886 it is one dollar united states of america » by carmen sanchez on March 18, 2005 @ 02:55 PM #Carmen: I couldn't be happier for you. » by dan on March 18, 2005 @ 03:08 PM #i have a 1776 twenty d. coin and i am not sure what it is worth if any one can help me then let me know i have a dime its a 1919and on the back it says You can find out the price here: http://www.pcgs.com/prices/frame.chtml?type=date&filename=mercury_dimes » by dan on April 16, 2005 @ 09:48 PM #i have a 1882 e pluribus unum dollar. could someoe tell me how much it is worth. » by nelly on April 17, 2005 @ 08:34 PM #i have a mongolian one and two dollar coin it say 1915 i have 7 pennies all copper 5 in which say "one cent, united states of america" in the back.
